In London, for New Designers, and came across one of Dorothy Caldwell's enormous quilts. And it wasn't behind glass, or in the distance, or guarded by anyone. So I could have a good look at the detail. It's a mix of hand stitch and print, on a huge scale. Did a workshop with her a while ago and we tried to work out if we each had our own stitching handwriting, which was interesting.

studio trail is over for another year. thanks to everyone who came to have a look.

first day of the Studio Trail yesterday. started slowly, with lots of rain, but had a lovely afternoon when the sun and the visitors came out. happy that some of my pictures have found new homes with Debbie, Ian, and Tim & Greta. and happy to share my sketchbooks with a succession of thoughtful junior school-aged girls, who sat quietly and went through every single page, asking questions and telling me about their drawings.

back from the blue blue skies of Greece, but they're blue here too. now off to the Contemporary Craft Festival at Bovey Tracey for the weekend.
